About Minneapolis Bat Removal

Welcome to minneapolisbat.com. We are the only qualified bat removal company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our bat removal company was founded over 40 years ago to help residents get rid of their bat infestation problem. At that time, the nearest bat removal company was over 30 miles away. Although we started as a husband-and-wife business, we have grown to become the largest bat control company in the region with about 100 employees. Throughout our existence, we have kept true to our mantra: effective and humane removal services! That's why we hugely invest in purchasing the right tools that make our removal process effective. Asides from seeking pure talents in the field, they also undergo routine training to keep them updated with the latest techniques. The result: we can help you get rid of bats in your attic, chimney, or anywhere else without hurting a single bat! Bats are an important part of the ecosystem. That's why any removal process must not interfere with their health and well-being. Once you give us a call and book an appointment, we send an inspection specialist to carry out a thorough inspection of your property. That allows us to identify their entry holes. We then seal the holes, except one. We install an exclusion device in the last hole. That way, once they get out, they are unable to return. However, executing these seemingly easy steps requires specialized knowledge of bat behavior, including mating habits and hibernation season (for some species). For instance, if the exclusion device is installed while there are pups (bat babies) in your attic, they might be unable to get out. On the other hand, once their mothers leave, they are unable to get back in. You might potentially end up killing hundreds of pups in your attic by separating them from your mothers. That's why you need specialists! We are the best at what we do, and customer satisfaction is our top priority. Let's help you get those bats under control today.  We operate 24-7-365, so don't hesitate to call us at 952-600-8403 to discuss your bat problem and schedule a fast appointment.

Residential

We are experts at removing bats from residential properties. Whether you have a single bat trapped in your house, a colony roosting in your attic, and/or various other problems, there is no need to worry! During our removal process, we make sure to inspect your entire home carefully, tracking down all the entrypoints bats are using to invade your place. Next, we perform a process called live exclusion (where no bats are harmed and all exit your property), then seal all entry holes completely shut. We also take care of the cleanup process after, so your home is safe and clean!

Commercial

Besides residential areas, we also have a wealth of experience removing bats from commercial properties! We begin by investigating the area for possible bat entrances, covering holes even as small as 1/4 of an inch. Through our live exclusion process, bats leave the building through one-way exits, and we seal up every hole afterward. Once the bats have been removed, we perform a cleanup process. This includes dealing with guano, replacing damaged insulation, and decontaminating the place.

Are There Any Changes I Can Make To My Property To Keep Bats Away?

Preventative maintenance is by far better than trying to rid yourself of an infestation after the fact. Bats are a protected animal because of their contribution to the ecosystem, which makes them a bit trickier to deal with.

Bats are very particular about their environmental and roosting needs. They like dark areas with plenty of room to land. Bats prefer a specific type of surface area that is easier for them to cling to since they really do like to hang upside down.

Of course, they want to feel protected and the area needs to be warm. Bats prefer their roosting area to be between eighty-five degree and one hundred- and four-degrees Fahrenheit. Their body temperature is much warmer than ours.

Additionally, bats prefer to be near an open access water source. Knowing these things gives you the information you need to ensure that you are not inviting bats to take up residence on your property. Here are some things you can do to discourage bats around your residence.

Sealing Your House

The best thing to do first is to seal off any possible entry point. Bats only need an opening the size of a pencil width to squeeze in. Get caulk, nails or screws and maybe even hardening foam to do the trick.

Secure any loose facia boards and roof shingles first. Then go around the roof and caulk or insulate every single little opening. If you use insulation, then it must be foam insulation which hardens when dry.

Seal around any vents, soffits and facia boards. Seal the area where your roof pitch changes to create gaps. It is also a good idea to check your chimney. Ensure that there is a good chimney cap installed and that it has not been damaged.

Install screen behind the vents around your attic as well. Bats feed at night and they are attracted to light sources because it is a reliable place to find insects. It helps to keep outside lighting to a minimum. Turn them on when you need them and turn them off when you don't.

Modifying your property to deter bats is a detailed and timely process. Prior experience helps in this situation. It is often easier to call a professional who can guarantee their work in this situation.

Avoid those noise machines that make high-pitched sounds and promise to rid your property of bats. They simply do not work and can aggravate other animals on the property.
